Abstract :
Signals propagating within enclosed environments are subject to severe multipath degradation. The authors examine the behaviour of 2.45 GHz signals propagating in typical indoor situations and investigate the effects that transmission impairments have on spread spectrum signals. Results are presented for signal coverage within an indoor location which show the distribution of fading and also the effects of small changes in frequency. The results are extended to show how the propagation phenomena affect the transmission of digital signals, represented in terms of bit error rates.<>
