Abstract
The design and implementation of a multiprocessor-based uninterruptible power supply (UPS) are presented. A digital-power factor compensator is proposed for the closed-loop regulation of the synchronously controlled rectifier. Digital sinusoidal pulsewidth-modulation (SPWM) techniques with a digital compensator are used to regulate the PWM inverter of the UPS. Fast transient response and high efficiency have been obtained. A 5 kVA transistorized UPS has been built in the laboratory, and experimental results have shown its superiority.<>
