Abstract
The author has attempted to outline the areas in the hospital where 27 MHz fields are commonly encountered. Other frequencies are used but they are less common. Although without exception they can give rise to problems and are sources of considerable interference the therapeutic benefit to the patient is considerable. It is therefore likely that these techniques will remain in use despite the EMC regulations and that screening and other solutions will have to be found to solve any problem that may arise
