            Abstract :
An important feature of multistatic radar systems (MSRSs) is considered: the capability of mainlobe jamming cancellation without target echo suppression even when a jammer is very close to a target or coincides with it in space (self-screening jamming). Key theoretical results concerning the synthesis and analysis of optimum and suboptimum detection algorithms are given. The corresponding two-stage adaptive mainlobe jamming cancellation algorithm (AMJCA) is described. This algorithm has been verified by simulation. The presented simulation results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions
