The author deals with the concept of measurement uncertainty and its standardisation. He describes the ISO/TAG4 Guide method which treats all of the components on a probability basis. He also points out other principal documents produced, namely, WECC 19 by the Western European Calibration Cooperation and the NAMAS NIS 3003
