  • Abstract
This article suggests using filamentation effect of intense femtosecond pulses. Intensity of the light pulse becomes very high in filament, and interaction length for frequency conversion can be long. Here, efficient deep-ultraviolet (DUV) and mid- infrared (MIR) sub-20-fs pulse generation by four-wave mixing processes through filamentation in gases is demonstrated. For MIR pulse generation, air was used as a gas medium whereas for DUV, neon gas is used as gas medium.
