Abstract
A simple solution to the problem of forming many beams at acoustic imaging frequencies is provided by acoustic mirror technology. The Fourier transform required to achieve imaging is performed geometrically by appropriate shaping of the mirror as in optics. The design of an underwater acoustic imaging system is described. To minimise cost personal computer based commercial software is used. The characteristics of the system built are shown
