Abstract
Real-time monitoring for multiple targets is crucial in portable positioning system. In order to improve runtime efficiency of the system, we respectively use native table file and memory table in MapX to add and modify the map objects. By calculating their response time, a comparison is made to find the difference in runtime efficiency of the system. The experimental results show that the use of memory table can avoid frequent I/O process, thereby improve the efficiency of system. Therefore, it is suitable to use memory table as storage type in personal portable positioning system.
