Abstract :
The authors have demonstrated a four channel photonic time slot interchange (TSI) experimental system working at 2.5 Gbit/s data rate. The experimental system is based on a parallel switch fabric using four semiconductor laser amplifiers and four fibre delay lines. The experimental results show good switching performance: only 0.2 dB BER penalty was observed for straight-through operation and 0.7 dB penalty for fully interchanged time slots
