Abstract
This study investigates the satellite network that is applied to remote telecommunication networks. The satellite network is planned based on telecommunication demand as obtained from a survey. The results of a social survey which represent the needs and capabilities of people in remote areas which lack telecommunication infrastructures in West Malaysia are given in this paper. Finally, two satellite communication systems are compared to accommodate the needs of people in remote areas.
