GSM based motorcycle security system

This paper presents a motorcycle security system to prevent thieves from stealing the motorcycle. The system used microcontroller and was designed based on Global System for Mobile Communications. The system can be installed in a motorcycle at hidden place. The action of pressing the paddle or activating the engine without a key will cause a signal to be sent to the microcontroller. The microcontroller will detect the status of a limit switch that is connected to it and send a message to the owner via a mobile phone and stop the engine immediately by disconnecting the power supply. The system will operate in normal condition again after the owner disables it. The proposed system is simpler and more efficient than conventional security system.
