Abstract
Since the introduction of the IEE wiring regulations 15th Edition in year 1981, several major changes have occurred in Hong Kong affecting the designers, contractors and operating personnel of the electrical installation in buildings. The author outlines the relevant documents which set out fundamental requirements on the design, installation and maintenance aspects of the electrical installation and intend to achieve a common goal which is to avoid electrical hazard. The hazard includes the electric shock, injury and fire risk
