Abstract :
The interactions of the train crew and the dispatcher need to be incorporated in the analysis of train control systems. These interactions directly impact train movement, and as a result, system safety. Thus, the incorporation of such human behavior in the modeling of train control systems provides more insight into actual system behavior. Typically, system safety analysis precludes the impact of human behavior and focuses on the hardware and software systems. The analyses presented in this paper provide insight as to how overall system safety is affected by human behavior
