Abstract :
With the increase in the bandwidth of FMCW radar signals, the wideband property and the required resolution results in conflict. Several methods to resolve these problems are presented. The strengths and weaknesses of each solution are discussed. The range-segment processing and mixed processing with coarse and precise processing are investigated. The mixed mode of coarse and precise processing shows its versatility over the range-segment processing (including the traditional range-segment processing and the new range-segment undersample processing). The combination of an analog spectrum analyzer and FFT is more suitable to wideband signal processing
