Abstract :
A cobalt/aluminium doped fibre with a flat spectral attenuation between 1250 nm and 1610 nm is manufactured with the technique of granulated oxides. With a dopant concentration of 0.5 at % Co2+ and 10 at % Al3+ an average attenuation of 0.95 dB/cm between 1250 nm and 1610 nm is achieved.
