Abstract :
Aircraft maintenance consumes a great amount of maintenance man-hours, the considerable expense of which is no doubt an important part of life-cycle cost (LCC). A brief account of the new concept for maintenance management-“maintenance engineering: man-aircraft-environment complex system” (MEMAECS) is given in this paper. According to this concept, and through many years of observation and study, the authors have summarized a regular pattern for consuming outfield maintenance man-hour resources-“spoon-shaped curve”, which reveals the nonlinear characteristic of MEMAECS´s statistical value from the angle of maintenance engineering
