Abstract
The author presents a study on a four pole machine with an asymmetric buried magnet rotor having cage bars. In addition to saturation effects, the parameters are known to vary with the direction of rotation due to the rotor asymmetry. The machine has been modelled using an equivalent circuit. The parameters of this model have been determined by both computational and experimental techniques
