Abstract :
Electro-optical (EO) detecting devices are widely used for target detection, designation and tracking. For example, an IRST system, as a typical airborne or shipboard detecting device, is often equipped for the remote target detection and tracking. In the problem of multiple target tracking, observation-to-track pairing is very important. In this paper, the algorithm for partitioning the valid matrix is discussed in detail, then the score factor of every observation-to-track correlation is described and a number of sub-algorithms are given. Finally we use the pairing algorithm for tracking multiple targets including several heavily interfering ones; the results demonstrate the new pairing algorithm has a better performance
