Abstract
The authors aim to describe the development of a design procedure for investigating the performance and reliability of induction machines. The method adopted is based on the finite-element technique. Engineering methods are introduced to ensure accurate modelling of the induction motor without significantly increasing the solution time. Verification of the design method is done by comparison with the test values of phase current and torque of a small 4-pole induction motor
