  • Abstract
In the electric machines, in addition to electrodynamic stresses, other dangerous stresses like those giving rise to differential expansions could exist. These stresses are due both to the difference in temperatures of the active materials and to the difference in their coefficients of thermal expansion. This paper takes into consideration the strains which the field winding and the commutating pole winding of a direct-current motor can undergo. To have more reliable results, the thermophysical characteristics of the materials constituting the stator of the motor are taken into account
