Abstract :
This paper reports a thorough investigation of the performance characteristics of a single-phase sinusoidal pulse width modulated DC motor drive system. A separately-excited DC motor, supplying a typical fan load characteristic, is considered. The influence of the modulation frequency and armature time constant on the line and load harmonic spectra, and on the performance parameters are investigated over the full range of speed
