  • Abstract
Electrical vehicles include an electronic drive and a motor. A difference between the speeds of wheels must be allowed. Therefore a mechanical differential is required, except when two motors, one for each wheel, are used. But in this case, two power supplies are necessary. The authors describes a project for a more compact solution which requires only one power supply and avoids a mechanical differential. This machine is named the electrical differential motor. A theoretical study is proposed and completed by practical results measured on a prototype. It is realized with two series connected standard asynchronous machines
