Abstract :
Currently, the scalability problem of collaborative virtual environment (CVE) has not been efficiently solved because of the limitation of computing resource, network resource and technologies. In order to solve this problem, a hybrid communication model based on open grid services architecture (OGSA) is discussed first. Then we devise a scalable CVE architecture based on OGSA. After that, we focus on virtual world management service which is the key service in our architecture for scalable CVE. At last, an application case based on Globus Toolkit is developed to validate the feasibility of our CVE architecture and services based on OGSA.
