Abstract :
With the development in ubiquitous computing and networking, distance education has become one of the most popular ways people study. It also causes the educational resources in an exponential growth. Users are puzzled by the problem of “information overload”. They find it difficult to obtain useful information from huge amounts of resources. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to offer personalized recommendation service for learners in distance education. This paper provides an overview of related technology. We mention the common personalized recommendation algorithm which is based on the methods of content filtering, collaborative filtering and related rules. Moreover, the paper discusses the key technology involved in a personalized recommendation system. This paper also includes workflow of recommendation system. At the end, the whole design framework of personalized recommendation system is covered.
