  • Abstract
    Communication cost estimation tools are required for exploration of interface choices during design space exploration for automated synthesis of systems. Theoretical models for delays and performance for a communication medium may not suffice when designing practical systems, as the actual performance of the medium depends on the setting that it is used in. In this paper, we present an approach where we build system-specific models, taking the PCI bus as the communication medium. Models are built for two systems, one for the SW-SW case, and the other for the SW-HW case
