Abstract
An adaptive active clamp for secondary circuits is proposed in this paper. Theoretical analyses, simulation results and experimental results show that this proposed active clamp control scheme can reduce the turn-off current of the clamp switch. Furthermore, it can achieve much less conduction loss and turn-off loss when the conduction period and position of the driving signal of clamp switch are optimized. The proposed active clamp control scheme is very easy to realize and suitable for AC/DC and DC/DC topologies with L-C type output filter to reduce the voltage spike of the output rectifier.
