            Abstract :
The author discusses the design methodology, experimental studies, and results for a system that has the capability of monitoring any user-definable acoustical signal from an FM radio or TV station using a personal computer and other hardware. The programs are written in TMS 32010, 8086 assembler and Pascal. The author illustrates the design methodology used to develop this real-time software. At this stage the system is capable of monitoring and counting any trained acoustic signal from an FM radio station with 100% accuracy
