Abstract :
The imaging of three-dimensional objects with the Veselago/Pendry superlens has not been extensively researched. While a two-dimensional planar object directly yields a super-resolved image, a three-dimensional object requires extensive inverse processing of the image field magnitude and phase information. In this paper we demonstrate how the superlens image can be recovered by processing discrete samples taken in a plane other than the focal plane. To achieve highly accurate image recovery we process these image field samples using Deslauriers-Dubuc interpolation wavelets as sampling functions. This approach lays the groundwork for the development of a 3D image reconstruction algorithm for sub-wavelength objects having finite depth normal to the superlens.
