Abstract :
A method is described for designing a height-reduced transformer suitable for mounting on a hybrid IC substrate. This is achieved by using a leakage inductance equation that reflects the effects of the core shape parameters as well as the transformer itself. The resulting height-reduced transformer allows the converter size to be reduced to 7/10 that of a converter using a conventional transformer.<>
