Abstract :
Indirect matrix converter (IMC) fed interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive is a novel solution for AC adjustable-speed drives with high performance and high efficiency. Position sensorless vector control technique is applied for the IMC fed IPMSM drive. Model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based rotor position estimation method is employed to estimate rotor position and speed. An anti-overflow algorithm is proposed to avoid the data overflow in the digital implementation of sensorless control. Simulations using MATLAB verify the effectiveness of the developed control methods. Some experimental results validate the practical feasibility of this drive system.
