Abstract :
The steady-state analysis of a high-frequency resonant (load commutated) inverter, which used an LCC-type commutation circuit is presented. The difference modes of operation are explained. A Fourier series method is used to analyze the circuit under steady-state conditions for continuous-current mode operation. The analysis is used to predict the performance of the inverter and to develop the design curves for the selection of inverter components. A simple design procedure is presented and illustrated. The predicted performance of the inverter agrees closely with results for a prototype experimental unit.<>
