Assessments of the impact of CCITT G.826 Recommendation on radio relay system design and radio link deployments

The paper presents an analysis of the impact of the new CCITT Rec. G.826 on digital radio transmission. In this respect, it appears quite important to define suitable allocation criteria and the paper depicts two possible allocation rules. It is confirmed that the new quality objectives are all more stringent that the G.821 corresponding ones. Radio systems´ technological evolution, however, can allow compliance with these more severe objectives without important modification of the actual system infrastructure and architecture. As a consequence no special effort is considered to be required when planning future digital radio on existing infrastructures
