Opportunities for renewable energy in the Manweb region

Manweb plc and the Department of Trade and Industry, through the Energy Technology Support Unit (ETSU) have jointly sponsored a study of renewable energy resources in the Manweb region. The authors outline how the study has reviewed the current status of renewable technologies, assessed the potential and time scales for commercial exploitation and identified the preferred technologies for the Manweb region. The work also includes a technical assessment of any limitations on the integration of renewable energy sources into Manweb´s electrical distribution system
