    In response to the need to improve MRP implementations and integrate MRP and JIT systems Lucas Industries have undertaken a three year project to develop an `ideal´ control system for newly reorganised cellular factories. This led them to reject MRPII and to develop a new control philosophy which they named `JIT-MRP´. This paper elaborates on some of its key elements
