Abstract :
As the new trend of harmonic elimination and reactive power compensation in power system, the active power filter (APF) is paid more and more attention by many researchers all over the world. To make the transient behaviours of APF system better, researchers improved the system construction, detection method, control strategy and so on. In this paper, the ant colony algorithm (ACA) is improved and applied to optimization of APF system (APFS) PI parameters. Simulation results show increased convergence rapidity compared with traditional algorithm. The optimized APF system has enhanced transient behaviours. The improved ACA can be also used in the other field
