  • Abstract
    Regional R&D(research and development) activities play a kind of important role on the enhancement of regional economic competition. By analyzing R&D funds inputs, staff inputs and outputs status related to R&D activities, an improved DEA model is used to calculate input and output efficiency on R&D activities from the year 2003 to 2008 in Hebei province. Compared with the both cities of Beijing and Tianjin, it is found that a big gap exists between Hebei province and Beijing-Tianjin area. In addition, there exist investment surplus and low output efficiency of R&D activities in Hebei province.
