Abstract
Describes a system that supports the drug designer in the search for compounds with desired biological properties. The system incorporates two design principles: it works in collaboration with the user, and it contains a variety of analytical tools. The tools, which share a common representational language with the drug designer, are used to construct predictive models of the domain from empirical data. The models are used to hypothesize sets of new compounds to by synthesized and tested
