  • Abstract
Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) is a new signal processing method for analyzing the non-linear and non-stationary signal, but it still has some problems. This paper discusses the problems of illusive components and mode confusion due to HHT, uses the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and wavelet transform to deal with these two shortcomings, proposes the similarity probability between the IMFs and the signal as the standard that whether a IMF is illusive or not, and applies wavelet transform as the preprocessor. The signal simulate test and faults signal analysis prove that this improved method to deal with the illusive components and mode confusion has an obvious advantage and reasonability
