Abstract :
A fusion algorithm for multisensor data fusion is developed, and applied to integrate the decisions obtained by multiple sonars in a distributed system for underwater signal detection. Computer simulation reveals that the performance of the fusion system is much better than that of the original detection system, and is further improved when the degree of correlation between individual sonar observations decreases
