Abstract
When the ESM (electronic support measurement) signal processor was tested in a laboratory simulated environment and in an actual sea environment, there were some differences between the simulated and real performance. In this paper, by focusing on the frequent problems with the signal processor, an improved algorithm is presented via an analysis and study of the actual operation data extracted. Using the improved algorithm, the ESM signal processor has been tested on the sea several times. The advantageous features are shown not only in handling the dense electromagnetic environment, the jamming process and false alarms, but also in successfully dealing with special radar signals such as in the double agile mode of operation
