Abstract
The proliferation, growth, decline, and re-growth of the retailing industry during the past several decades has allowed for the creation of new applications for business intelligence. Along the way there have been many spectacular successes as well as many failures. This paper attempts to apply business intelligence using ecological theories at Fingerhut Inc. as an example noting its successes and failures.
