Abstract :
The article addresses a "morphological tree" system model (tree-like system model, design alternatives and their estimates including compatibility estimates), hierarchical morphological multicriteria design (HMMD) approach based on morphological clique problem, and corresponding several combinatorial technological system problems (e.g., design/synthesis, upgrade, multistage design). HMMD extends morphological analysis by several ways as follows: (a) ordinal compatibility among system components, (b) multicriteria description of alternatives for systems components, the description is transformed into an ordinal scale (a common scale for all system components), and (c) Pareto- effective composite decisions (criteria: quality of system components and quality of compatibility). Applied examples (for communication systems) illustrate the described model, design method, and technological problems.
