Abstract :
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective modulation technique for high-rate and high-speed transmission over frequency selective fading channel. However OFDM system is extremely sensitive and vulnerable to synchronization errors. In this paper a training sequence format is presented. Based on this format, a joint algorithm about symbol timing and carrier frequency offset estimation algorithm is put forward. The complexity of this algorithm is very small, but the bandwidth of carrier frequency offset estimation is a half of signal bandwidth. Furthermore it still keeps good performance under lower SNR. So this paper completely solves the synchronization acquisition problem of OFDM system in practice.
