  • Abstract
A power converter is derived by adding an inductor in series with the AC load of the conventional parallel resonant power converter (PRC), which is called the LCL resonant power converter (LCL-RC). It is shown that this converter has more desirable features than the conventional PRC, such as high dynamic control characteristics and reduced component stresses. A steady state analysis gives a set of characteristic curves which allowed a systematic design procedure for this converter in the zero voltage switching region. Experimental results of prototype of a 150 watt-20 kHz full bridge LCL-RC are also presented
