Abstract
An efficient direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) transmission protocol is proposed for centralized satellite networks. The aim is to reduce the central station complexity in terms of number of receivers required. After analyzing the performance, the authors show that with an appropriate choice of system parameters the throughput reduction due to reduced complexity can be made negligibly small
