Abstract :
The Z-source dc-dc converter has a unique topology which is called Z-source network. The Z-source network can boost up the input voltage and protect the devices against a short circuit. However it has disadvantages such as the low boost factor and the narrow power range. Therefore, enlarging the boost factor and the power range are required. This paper proposes the Z-source dc-dc converter with cascade switched capacitor circuit. The proposed converter is able to enhance the boost factor range and the power range by connecting the switched capacitor to the various types of Z source converters. The theoretical approach, simulation results with MATLAB/SIMULINK, and experimental results with prototype circuits are introduced and confirmed.
