  • Abstract
    For the large-scale modeling task of a city 3D modeling project, it´s very important to improve the quality and speed of modeling. The models of the 3D city scene are relatively simple but massive, so this paper puts forward a rapid solution which integrates SketchUp and ArcGIS for 3D city modeling and scene management. First, all kinds of geographic entities are rapidly modeled by SketchUp, and then imported into ArcGIS to build scene and achieve efficient management and spatial analysis. Practice has proved that the solution is simple and efficient for modeling city blocks, mining industrial square and so on, and also has the ability to effectively manage and analyze the dynamic and realistic 3D virtual scene.
