Abstract
This paper investigates continuous-time model predictive control of an induction motor using Laguerre function. To address the existence of nonlinearity in the induction motor, a multi-model approach is proposed with a switching strategy to achieve optimal performance. Experimental results on an industrial sized induction motor have demonstrated that the proposed approach has improved performance over the existing control system.
