  • Abstract
    The paper reviewed low bit rate digital transmission of television signals on satellites. Some of the systems aspects have been discussed and particular details of a practical satellite system already available commercially have been given. These developments, together with attention to practical design details and particularly receiver costs, will eventually result in a variety of TV broadcast systems having lower overall cost to the end-user with significantly increased facilities and choice over present-day TV systems
