Abstract :
The Scottish utilities are dealing and trading not with an integrated utility but with the owner-operator of the transmission system providing access to the England and Wales market for electricity. The author briefly describes the new structure, the market and access to it, and the National Grid Company´s viewpoint in terms of its contribution to the technical challenge involved in the interconnector upgrade
